A somewhat obliging social stature now… If you don’t have a facebook account, you’re not a catching-up human being? Gosh…

“Jenny is folding laundry”. “Priscilla constipated”. Yea, I’m catching up alot. LOLz.

Well… totally nothing wrong with that… why not ?? Facebook is also meant for fun anyway. Among colleagues one could go “I smell something… gross! Did someone just farted? LoL”   LOL… that’s a good one.

I enjoy jokes so I guess I would find such updates pretty entertaining Why drain life away taking everything too personal and easily prone to irritation?

Of course, status update that reads “So down and tensed!!”  is something we all can relate to in our everyday stress . It does help ease a little especially when thoughtful friends come comforting commenting on such status.

So how well are you acquainted with Facebook?
I do update my status updates on and off though not on a weekly basis.

It may sound quite absurd in catching up with just 2 sentences after 20years of losing touch… but facebooking has somehow made it so ever possibly possible! I’m always happy to see old friends popping up in facebook.

The last thing everyone wanted to read on the feed page is a tactical bombing sarcasm status update that’s meant to shoot at a friend while trying to impart some positiveness about himself/herself. Every human being has a built-in antenna, we can smell it… even from afar…. even if we’re not involved in the dangerous loop. Boys and girls, please do not do this at home. Such status update shouts-out-loud nothing more than a diminishing EQ of thyself than what the content is really about.

The awkwardness of Facebooking
We have friends in real life who haven’t approve our add yet? Yes, I’m ignoring you in person. What it’ll be like when meeting that person… ignore the truth? Maybe. LOL… *Err… inexplicable error perhaps?*

Boys adding girls. Totally no apparent reason required. But if it’s the other way round, gosh… girls, you’re in a heap of trouble. They would immediately made known to the world… hey, I didn’t add her. She did. She’s the one who made the first loser move. I don’t even know her. I don’t simply add strangers. It’s better I announce to the world by writing on her wall, “Thanks for the add.“ 

When we see familiar faces *or by common grounds* in facebook, we are happy to see them. We add them with a message. Sometimes… a joking but friendly message. The next thing you know, your distorted message is all across the world by word of mouth. Yikes.

We have close friends who shuts us off their wall and only selected photo albums that are viewable?? Then when we did a spring cleaning downsizing *deleting* our photo albums, the next thing you know, the dear close friends would come cross-examining you, “How come I can’t see your Japan photos anymore?” Err… coz I have deleted as in… deleted?? LOL… *I’m going to lose my hair if I scratch my head again* What’s with all the commotions? Much attributed to KIASU-ism (fear of losing)? Haiz.

We all know how severe we Chinese could get when it comes to KIASU-ism. Facebook is going to be one heck of a LOAD of STRESS for the pact! LOL, Good Luck in the race . I have a better idea. Let her run her own race. Bwahahaha…

Putting up hilarious pics of everyone can be quite entertaining and fun. But not when it’s being done intentionally out of some kiasu-ism vendetta or vengeance. Thousand apologies but we have very minimal span of time to mind aunty’s vengeance. We love the bright side of you though.

In conclusion, we all still love facebooking one way or another… ♥
I joined facebook in April 2007 or was it 2008?? Well, I’m happy with all my friend list, love all the entertaining updates, loving all the photos and I’m enjoying it! Thank you for sharing your life in facebook and thank you for not spring-cleaned me out of your friend list so far. LOL…

Facebook has been blocked intermittently in several countries including Pakistan, Syria, People’s Republic of China, Vietnam and Iran. Come to think of it, if it ever gets blocked in Malaysia….

1. my apartment would probably be MORE spotless than my spotlessly-spotless-apartment *as if* now
2. beingmrs.com would probably have doubled *or perhaps tripled??* in its content
3. but then I’d probably end up in serious debt for over-shopping. LOLz….

Phew… after a chain of self deprecating cynicism of indecisiveness, I’ve finally *I think* concluded – settled and content.

Frustration
My mobile phone was brutally assaulted and taken as a pretend tennis ball by my 3year old son. So temporarily, I resumed on whatever that we have in our storeroom, a pioneer generation black-and-white 4cmx 2cm screen mobile phone *yea, wow gigantic screen* Too much inconvenience caused as it does not chew on MMS what more 3G or GPS. Missing out months of life…

To Do List
Sarah, to get a temporary mobile phone while waiting for iPhone 4 WHITE to land on mother earth *herein refers to Malaysia*. I have a thing for white phones. I have a thing for many things on earth – that’s the culprit that makes me a shopaholic, not me. Apologetically, well… it has nevertheless proven itself efficaciously helpful in spicing up a stay-at-home mom daily routine afterall. Big ♥ loving hug to shopping per se.

Results
She did get a new temporary mobile phone. It’s a touch screen and most importantly it’s clean white. That’s the criteria she mentioned when asked by the shop promoter. It’s one handy GenoA. She loves it, she bling-ed it…. and she hopes to keep it till she retires as long as her son stays away from her phone.

Incidental Results
1. Incidentally, to a ludicrous degree, a few days later, she has bought an additional phone which is a Blackberry just because it’s white too?? What on earth is a stay-at-home mom doing with two mobiles in her menial job??? Err… one is for ordering fresh fish from the market and the other is for laundry calls?? LOL… I really have no idea, LOL. Sarah and her financial faux pas. Haiz.

2. She has also registered a sub-line *God knows the reason* coz she wished to keep both the phones?? This is intricately confusing even to the extent of writing about it now….

3. Then her dear hubby boomed “I don’t like both your numbers. They’re so hard to even remember.” Aren’t he going to boingboing on what the heck am I doing with two lines rather than not liking all the numbers?? *scratching my head* LoL.

*whispering… it’s confirmed and affirmed, we’re definitely a pair of UFO paranoia aliens living under this roof. Bwahahaha* With his usual irreverent perverse unwelcome highlights yet perceptive and caustic at times *or perhaps all the time*, Sarah changed both her line numbers undoubtedly and instantaneously.

What a foibles of exasperation by the absolute absurdity over mobiles and numbers… why are those trivial matters so important Sarah dear?? Since when?? Gosh… since momhood took over??

Process of ageing… I guess. It does the same to men too. Just like my hubby, he and his obstinate persistent in waiting in his car at a shady spot. So, to get in the car, one has to walk a full l-o-n-g kilometer in hot scorching sun before one can finally reach the car. It’s not so much a fuss about getting in a hot steamy baked car, but to my dearest boss whom I submit to, it’s all about preserving his car shiny coat of paint. Yikes! And every time he changed his car, the wife and son have to walk two more kilometers before we can reach the car. LOL…

Smartphones vs Stay-at-Home Mom… Where’s The Link??
He asked himself why he is giving a stay-at-home mom a smartphone?? Any reason besides the blunt nonsense of online shopping and facebooking.

So, these are the reasons I gave.

1. A smartphone sink in very well with a smart stay-at-home mom like me, LOL.

2. Internet is my heart beat… I depend on it alot, he knows that.

3. He knows too that filing paperwork freaks me out *though this home secretary keep things impressively organised * With that, email is like my letter box. Thankfully, a smartphone helps configurate the entire billing chunk right to my finger tips. Blackberry has a safer email security as it has its own server portal.

4. Snap-and-email/MMS is also my skills, lol. He takes great pleasure in all my MMS of my son at home just so that he is rest assured that his wife is performing her housewife duties at that very moment and not somewhere in the mall.

5. My hobby evolves around the internet. Writing, reading and blogging - just to keep my brain working. I no longer have to succumb myself to the 3.8kg *or is it 10kg??* laptop wherever I go, though laptop is still pretty much my oxygen coz no way I can type my entire post on any smartphone *this portion serves nothing more than an exclusion clause for possible future submission of an invoice for a super lightweight netbook, bwahahaha*.

6. Must there be a substantiate reason for buying a smartphone??? :/ … and I enjoy online shopping and facebooking.

Have you ever thought about being a good wife? It first crossed my mind… erm… after I become a mom *not when I first become a wife, lol* and when things started to feel insanely insecure. Witnessed too many affairs betraying wives. Haiz.

Jeanne-Antoinette’s history has taught me a little about being a wife. Forget the mistress part. When she was made ‘Madame la Marquise de Pompadour’ she had to entertain the king to maintain her place. So wives have to entertain the husband to maintain the family? Well, it does sound cruelly absurd. But who are we to deny that without a happy marriage, there really isn’t going to be a very happy family. Are we putting 101% effort in our children and only 1% on our hubby?

To love a man, requires a lifetime effort. *Ya, I know I said that before in my previous post. I’m not nagging. Coz it’s just so…. hard to love someone.* It’s relentlessly a persistent pursuit. All Mr Husbands, I hope you realise it takes wives considerable time and effort on all the minimalist costumes we stock up for your secret enjoyment. Well, even when I’m 60, I’d still *not stock up those anymore of course* but would do my utmost best to comfortably look my very best for my age. Appearance does matter to men!

Thanks to the internet, car magazines *and now even IT magazines* and especially Chinese entertainment tv shows, we’re now being compared to hundreds of thousands MORE, younger women. The positive side, these culprits are indirectly repeatedly reminding me that beauty fades, so does romance. Jeanne-Antoinette, had studied the king patterns, knew his needs and persistently pursued him *in other words, persistently entertaining our husbands* until he realized he couldn’t function without her *I wonder when will that be* She’s good. Bwahahahaa…

Forget what we’ve studied back in school. Marriage is not a noun. Marriage is work! Jeanne-Antoinette never stopped trying to captivate Louis XV even after he has made her Madame de Pompadour.

Do you know that men actually care less about whether his wife lose weight or not. But they certainly care very much about their wife cultivating sexual intimacy with them… *clearing throat* Define… wife to be comfortable with sex and her body, be initiating *did u read that word? one more time, be INITIATING* and much ENTHUSIAST. So wife, I pray thou shall not be too reserved in bed. LoL… I’m sure men don’t expect his wife to look like a sixteen year old supermodel when the wife is in her 40s but he definitely does want his wife to look feminine. Ladies… feminine enthralls men *ok, quick go do research about feminine.. lol*

Why then do women still contribute ‘negligently’ to slimming centers when we already know it’s just a mere temporary makeover. It’s really ok even if we don’t have the perfect weight as long as we stay intimate and like Jeanne-Antoinette, still be the most delicious woman to our dear hubby. If the world complimented us that, it may have flattered us *ok, maybe goosebumps to some*. But if it’s from our dear hubby, it’s all I ever ask for.

Reminding myself… Serve him his comfort food, keep his favorite beverage and snack food well stocked. Oh, remember to iron 5 shirts every Sunday afternoon *after the pedicure*. That’s for Monday through Friday. LoL… However this only apply to the herds who do not have the luxury of having maid to assist us on laundry and housekeeping i.e. people like me, enslaved slave… haiz.

I hope you will eventually… no longer have to please out of fear *just to maintain the marriage* but out of love. And be very passionate and persistent not in trying less but more! It doesn’t sound resounding to me one bit but the fact, we need to work diligently to keep our man enthralled to save marriage for a happier family.

Can you imagine how suffocating our life could be when we are putting marriage, a vulnerable subject matter, above God *the only ONE whom we can substantially rely on*. According to Daniel Goleman, there are 3 factors contributing a good relationship – attachment, care-taking and sex. And the one determining how long lasting the relationship, is the care-taking. Jeanne-Antoinette, studied her man. She figured out what a busy king, who bears the country’s heavy weight, most wants and needs in escaping his responsibilities and duties. That is care-taking.

Take a deep breath, enter his world and pray hard.

Our status, ‘married’. *You finally meet your Mr Right? Well, too bad. Too late… lol* There will a-l-w-a-y-s be a better choice but there will only be ONE solid relationship that’s built over the golden years.

To resent the state of being married, is just going to bring out the very monster in us, into the relationship. We may be married to a difficult man but could our response be making the relationship even more difficult? Are we indirectly painting ourselves an awful life? Think about the destructive wrinkles… !! Botox only lasts 6 months the most

If we can’t give our children two understanding parents, at least give them one. God bless us, we will try.

You are not walking alone We are all practically in the same boat

1. They would pass through ignoring a big pile of mess in the living that desperately need their help cleaning, and then go outside wash their cars that already look so clean. Yikes…

2. They forget every social engagements that we’ve committed to, yet they know to the kilometres when we’re supposed to send our cars for service.

3. They can’t wait for the 15minutes interim while we do our makeup, but they willingly take a 30-45minutes drive to their games.

4. Upon reaching home, they would just leave the car walk straight to the door, while we have to juggle with our kids AND unload all the grocery bags.

5. They would criticise a natural beautiful lady just because she doesn’t have her make up on and worship a lady whose naked face can cause us severe shock just because she is a model *or maybe a standby model*.

6. They will look at us from head to toe as if we’re a witch, just because they’re comparing us to ladies who have botox every 6months. *Maybe we should remind them, those ladies’ platinum SUPPLEMENTARY cards have absolutely no credit limit :/*

7. They always claim they’re a shy and committed family guy. But whenever they’re out, they spread their wings wide, made their macho entrance and take the ‘king‘ seat at cafe/restaurant that has the best eye view of every lady in the sun light and every high heels that passes by. *Could be one reason why I prefer to camouflage myself in extra-large sunglasses. Else, people would be wondering if his wife is a lady biologically.*

8. They can look like David Beckham and they will not be happy if we look like Posh coz… camera only has ONE lens?

9. Their favorite tv channels is either sports or Japanese ladies learning makeup… make-up or… ?? Haiz…

10. They can talk to us about their problems but we’re weird whenever we try to share ours. And we have to beg our ears to listen to them attentively for 2 long killing hours *somehow guys take longer to explain one simple issue, when we only need a sentence*.

11. Don’t quite understand about men swerving eyes? Grab a Cantonese entertainment magazine and be very much enlightened . Every snip is circling the accidental flashing from the actresses and introducing more sweet sixteen snow whites in swimsuits. They basically educate husbands to get bored with old actresses *wife* and be very much enthusiast about sweet sixteen newcomers *mistresses*. Haiz… Welcome to adulthood, Sarah dear!

12. They always accused us of nagging but… come to think of it, guys actually nag more than us! Help me! Where to get the best imported ear plugs?

13. A little kind help that only requires them to walk two steps forward to accommodate to us, is a BIG hassle. But when they require us to cross the Alps just to accommodate to their luxury needs, accruing more weights to the already snapping agendas, is never a hassle coz somehow it’s always the ladies’ mandatory job.

If we erupted with a barrage of constructive critics or perhaps serving them with kind suggestions, we’ll be accused of infuriating the already tensed relationship which men are already getting bored. So which gender is better of in this universe?  Theologically, it’s repugnant.

One option which I’m undertaking now *for trial*, go to yoga classes, get it all released and fully recharged for concealing our bursting silent mode with a forgiving smile whenever we’re home. Ermm.. so far, shopping is still the most effective exercise ever and my best option…

Loving someone truly requires a multitude height of sacrifice and enormous sufferings. I’m sure you too have realised that we no longer hold the ultimate say in our relationship once we have migrated to marriage. It’s actually them! If you’re single, celebrate life! You have it all!

10 5 Reasons Why Our Husbands Are Still Adorable! LOL…

1.  They pay all our bills! *or maybe.. at least they share most/some of the bills*

2. They remember our birthday! *or maybe… after some hints*

3. They drive and they do all the parking especially on functions where the parking traffic is always congested. *we ladies drive well, just that sometimes we do not want to chip our perfectly manicured nails*

4. They accompany us at night. *or maybe… at least some of the nights for the many husbands who’re now working abroad and they better be faithful*

5. They clean all the cars. *or maybe… when it’s public holiday and the nearby car wash station is closed*

So far, they’ve been keeping us accompanied… that is PRICELESS. *let’s keep our fingers crossed hoping they’ll remain faithful to us for the rest of our life*

Most humor category movies tried too hard and it make the entire movie a little too slapstick. But Old Dogs… humor just roll in so naturally! I think John Travolta and Robin Williams make a very good pair!

If your life just seems a little gloomy for the past few years with all the unexpected marriage responsibilities weighing you down, then I urge you to wipe it all away and watch OLD DOGS. Have a good laugh! Life is never perfect coz it never is! So let’s rip off our own expectations and start enjoy blending in with all the HAPPY imperfect moms! Welcome and *A WARM BIG HUG* to you

I can never have enough of humor movies. I’ve yet to catch up on Wild Hogs. This movie has indirectly brought many of us down memory lane on our current/past loop of friends.

There are many moms out there who’re squeezed in between errands busy sending kids off to tuition, endless groceries lists, bank transactions, etc. … yet still feeling lonely. They too miss good old times with friends and all the ladies night. Every friends are now bogged down with their respective kids-rearing agendas if not some endless high-end projects. We allow time and friends slipping through, passing us by.

Many told me how they envy others who can become friends-cum-sisters. We know very well in every group, be it 2 or 6, we are all prone to arguments, misunderstanding, un-forgiveness or even hatred and silent revenge. But what make us all still sticking together after much commotion? Compromise and accepting the fact that we are all simply an imperfect being Just keep thinking about the good side of them So, let’s make effort to call our friends for a chat, be it just a quick hi and bye, or another 10years will soon pass in just a nick of time. If we have 1, treasure it. If we have 10, treasure it.

Perhaps you’ve already realised too that many of our mom friends who’re getting really overboard in being ‘kia su‘, makes closeness a little quite impossible. Every friend, like us, have our own sets of priority and mindset. If we acknowledge it and forget about winning, we can truly enjoy the great companionship of friends Have I confessed how I deeply treasure friends who’re simply not the extensive ‘kia su‘?? You are worth it ♥

Happy Mother’s Day to you

Guess what this is. A sticker? A fish? A water feature?

It’s the car dashboard “Fasten Your Seat Belt” sign that lights up notifying us to obviously, fasten our seat belt.

So what’s the sticker doing there? LoL… obviously this car owner, who never buckle his seat belt and probably insisted his passengers not to buckle up too coz this sign is for the passenger’s in front, must have found this bright blinking red light a little too irritating.

This safety feature which is meant for a good cause has somehow turned into somewhat an annoying *beep* blinking light, that is, to this car owner. LoL…

This isn’t my car. If I remember correctly it’s a TOYOTA WISH. When asked, my hubby said, the owner is a guy. This proves the extent of how far our husbands absolute creativity could go.

I wonder what this owner would do if it’s the seat belt chime… LoL…

55 years old, is still young. It’s just mid life. Still 30-40years more to enjoy. Just that, my real age is way way below that. If I look like 55 now, imagine when my real age hit 55, I’ll probably look like 99?? Gosh…

Thanks to my hubby’s “lion” comment, now my correction version of hairdo made me look two decades old(er)!! Worse, in day time, I look like wearing a blueish wig. Yikes! And, he calls me duo… the Cambodian Maid by the day time and Cleopatra by the night . :/

Punishment for being married to guy our age is, we always seem to see ourselves in an apocalyptic-ageing amazing race! He said I should do away with the name, Sarah Venesse Lim and get a new one, i.e…. Sarah Collagen Lim or maybe Sarah Botox Lim, then I’ll probably win the race. Guys basically do better than ladies in ageing!

Now I begin to see why they say couple with the age difference of 5-10 is perfect. Does yours fall within that lucky bracket? There are ladies who are slightly older slightly advanced in age than their partners (there’s really nothing wrong with that) but because some ladies inherited the good genes, they cheated age and instead, they look way younger! I want that too!
